I then went on to achieve my Master’s degree (2004) and PhD (2009) in biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.  Going on to complete a Post-Doctorate at the Centre for Studies in Oxidative Stress (Department of Biochemistry, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) and at the Protein and Peptide Biochemistry Laboratory (IOC/FIOCRUZ).
Additionally, I have spent some time as a visiting researcher at the Oxford Protein Production Facility (University of Oxford) and at The London School of Hygiene Tropical Medicine. I have experience in the areas of Biochemistry, Enzymology, High throughput Screening, Drug Discovery, Medicinal Chemistry, Neurochemistry, Toxicology, Molecular Biology, Protein Cloning and Expression, Parasitology, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Diabetes.  I am currently undertaking a placement with The Wellcome Centre of Anti-Infectives Research (WCAIR) to learn about in vitro DMPK, with the end goal of setting up key assays to test solubility, clearance and permeability at my home institute.
