New friendships and ideas seeded with Grow Dundee

We were delighted to be able to host Grow Dundee for their March 2023 network meeting. This fabulous network is based out of the Maxwell Centre, in the Hilltown, and connects growers across Tayside. In their own words:

“We help people in the neighbourhood to feel well, be well and do well. Growing in our community garden and enabling people -of all ages and backgrounds- learn, share and connect with nature makes a big difference. Learn more about what the Maxwell Centre does to support our community on our website or what we are up to on our Facebook page”

There are lots of exiting things going on in Dundee, and the world of gardening is no exception. Perhaps the biggest event coming our collective way is Art Night, which will be running outside of London for the first time.  On the evening of 24 June Art Night will present ten major commissions by internationally significant artists and more emergent artists in civic and public spaces across Dundee.

The commissions will be presented alongside Inwith. This is a series of projects highlighting a cross section of Dundee’s expansive art and communities programming. One of these projects will see a wheelbarrow delivered to each of Grow Dundee’s partner gardens. We’ll each decorate them to represent our own space in the run-up, then all of the wheelbarrows will converge on Wooosh Gallery – our near neighbour on the Perth Road.
