How can science and art benefit from working together?
We’ve paired up a pair each of scientists and artists. They come from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, and our friends at the Wellcome Centre for Anti-Infectives Research. Their research already asks big questions, covering the parasite Cryptosporidium, how medicines actually work to kill parasites, painting, drawing, sculpture, life, and death.
Artists Janice Aitken and Emily Fong, both well known on the Scottish arts scene, have been collaborating with internationally noted scientists Mattie Pawlowic and Susan Wyllie. What will they produce from working together, and how can scientists and artists learn from each other?
