Girlguiding Dundee Virtual Sleepover: Science Camp

Medi in the lab, saying

We’re excited to announce our first virtual sleepover. It’s going to have a science theme running throughout it and can all be done from the comfort of your own home. We’re running it in partnership with our friends from the Girlguiding Dundee. We worked with them to create our Medicine Maker Badge, so we’re delighted to be collaborating again.

Throughout the event we’ll have all the things you expect from a Girlguiding sleepover – opening and closing ceremonies, a campfire, snacks, and more. We’ll also have loads of activities which should help you work towards Skills Builders, Interest Badges and UMAs. There’ll be chances to make things, create your own lab, and meet some of the world-leading experts who run the School of Life Sciences. You’ll get to virtually explore some real life science labs and make your own one at home too!

We’ll be using things you can find around the house – science is in everything, so there won’t be any need to buy complex chemicals or expensive equipment. We will send out a list of suggested things you might want nearer the time – mostly fruit!

The event will be running primarily on Facebook, so sign up, join in and we’ll have an amazing time together! If you don’t use social media don’t let that stop you – we will make sure things are also sent out via email so you don’t miss out. Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be a member of Girlguiding Dundee to participate. We’ll also be having a badge to celebrate the event, which we’ll let you know more about soon!
