Millions of people take medicines every day, whether that’s an antihistamine for hayfever, or an antacid for a rumbly tummy. But fewer people think about how we discover new medicines. How long does it take? And how much does it cost?

You’ll discover answers to these questions and a great deal more at this workshop. You’ll meet scientists from the University’s renowned Wellcome Centre for Anti-Infectives Research. They’ll take you through the cycle of design – make – test every day as they make new medicines to fight deadly diseases like Malaria and Leishmaniasis. A little pill will never seem quite so simple!
